Fire Door Compliance Certification and Installation
Article 17 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 makes it a legal requirement for all fire doors to be ‘maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order, and good repair.’ This legislation applies to fire doors installed in any building used for non-domestic purposes. It also applies to flats, multi-occupancy houses, and new-built or newly renovated private properties with three or more floors.
Fire doors are part of a building’s first line of defence against fire, helping to restrict its spread and keep access to escape routes open. Fire door regulations stipulate that all fire doors must be installed by a ‘competent person’. Poor installation methods can result in an otherwise well-manufactured fire door failing to perform in the event of a fire, endangering lives and leaving you open to significant fines or even a prison sentence. Therefore, a professional with the necessary training and experience must install your fire doors, frames and ironmongery. We have qualified and approved inspectors and installers throughout East Anglia, London and the Home counties.

As with all fire safety equipment, fire doors should be regularly inspected to ensure they are fit for purpose and comply with current legislation. Our competent team inspecting fire doors will provide you with a full report detailing their findings. All inspections will be carried out at the agreed intervals to comply with your relevant fire risk assessment and fire safety regulations.
